Sleepless In Portland

[Comments] [Send Article] [Improper]

I stayed with an old friend last night. I am his daughters god father and rarely get to see them. We had a great BBQ but I could not sleep a wink last night. Strange, but I found myself longing to be back at the truck. I will likely take a short nap in a bit.
Since I had some extra time I thought I would update a few pictures.

This one is at a rest stop in NC.

Some where in the Mid-West

This one was taken in Utah on US28 near I70

Hi Warren- We've been over that stretch on I-70 several times. Very curvy and a few nasty little grades to deal with. Our sympathies. (The scenery can be very beautiful, though.) Nice pictures. Cute title for the post- we both loved the Hanks/Ryan movie. It sounds like you're progressing very well. In no time at all you should be graduating from "Squire" to "Knight". Oh, that reminds me, we downloaded your interview with the Trucker Doc. Interesting stuff. We're glad you could spend some time with your friends. The sleep difficulty is interesting- it must mean the truck has really become a second "home" to you, hasn't it? Welcome to the wonderful world of the wanderers! You'll do fine, young paduwan. Just keep 'er slow like you've been doing and let the other drivers deal with it. (And thanks for adding the links to our website and blog.) Numbers to you and the loved ones...

Hi, Warren. Welcome to OTR and thanks for the blog. You said early-on that your trainer "lost his brakes." Scary. Did you mean brake fade? Just curious. Thanks. Drive safe.
