First off, Lets answer some questions and comments.
1. Million Miler asked why the re-test? It is a mandatory D.O.T. thing. They have to retest 10% of the people tested at various schools over the past year. It sucks, I know.
2. Zach says beware of installing an inverter. Thanks for the info Zach. I have heard the same thing but rest assured.
3. Truckerdoc, thanks for letting me know about Lenutt4. Nitro, thanks for the kind words and stay tuned as I will continue to update everyone on the latest.5. Paul, last but not least, thanks for the info, I will check it out as soon as I get a chanceRe-Test Update.Well, as much as I hate to say it, I failed the air brake test. They don't allow one mistake during this part of the testing. I forgot to release the parking brakes before I did the applied pressure test. Other then that I did well but it is an automatic fail on the air brake. So I get one more chance to get it right and they will leave my driving status as is until then, so I can still drive. I have an appointment set for Oct. 5th in Southern California. Oh well, I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. My DM is going to get me travel pay for the 3 days I had to spend waiting for this test in CA. The school told me not to go to my other appointment and had I went I could have been up and running instead of sitting.
Okay, enough of that, here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment.
This first one I had taken while I was near Donner Pass in No. Cal. I stopped at a rest stop and noticed some trails out in the back. It's nice to have my bike with me. Someday I will be able to say I rode it in every state
This next one I had to take because it fit me, take a look and you will see what I mean.
This last one is for Uncle Fester, you know who you are. I was in Grand Island, NE. about a month ago and it was looking like we were going to have a tornado. It never touched down. This is the closest I've been to seeing one.
I have more pictures to post but that's all for now. I've been trying to get some good shots to share with you all but sometimes they just don't turn out. Okay, hope all is well with y'all and thanks again for all the comments and emails.

I have to take The DMV test tomorrow and realized that my horn doesn't work. I drove down to the Freightliner dealership close to my test site and am sitting here waiting till they get it fixed. Hopefully they can fix it or I will be in big trouble. Meanwhile I have just ben catching up on some sleep and reading blogs and playing with my new pocket PC.
Here is a picture of a wrap I like to make while on the road
I am going to buy an 1500 watt power inverter so I can run a Microwave. the standard caned soup and sandwhichs are starting to get old. It will be nice to be able to cook some rice and other items that I like. I plan on putting a fridge in here soon. Right now I am using a 12v cooler that works okay, but you really have to keep an eye on it and you cannot keep frozen items in it. The fridge I'm looking at is a double door model and should fit where my closet is. It will be nice to have it. I'm also considering a hotplate so I can broaden my range of cooking even more.
I brought my mountain bike with me this time but haven't ridden it yet. Hmmm, Think I'm going to go for a ride now.

Hello Everybody:
Actually, I've been back on the road since Monday. My wife is doing great. I had a run to Portland, OR. and am now heading back to Stockton, CA. to take my Re-Test with the DMV. I had an appointment for Tuesday but the school told me that the location I chose did, not accept 53' trailers. So on Tuesday I called the DMV and talked to the gal that is handling my retest and she said she was going to downgrade my license because I just blew off my appointment. I told her what the school said and pointed out that I was calling her the same day. Anyway, it's really way too much to type. Long story short, this time she made the appointment for me at an office in Stockton, CA. for Saturday morning.
I'm not worried about the test, I just hate that I have to go thru all this crap after having done it already. The gal at the DMV was being completely unreasonable and I made sure I let her know how I felt about the way she was treating me.
So far everything is still going good. I still haven't been paid for the modules I did while I was in Q-Fleet and it has been 6 weeks since I did them. I wonder how many phone calls I'll have to make before they pay me for those.
Sorry I haven't posted any pictures lately. I get mail from you all asking me for pictures but it's just been hectic. I just bought a Pocket PC / Phone and I haven't figured out how to connect my laptop to the internet thru my phone. So I bought a month of internet thru the TA Truck Stop and I will figure this out by the time I have to pay again. I love that new Pocket PC. It's an Audiovox PPC6600 thru Sprint. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. That's all for now.

Since last I posted, I made my pickup in Kentucky and have been beating the pavement to California to make my drop in Compton. After the drop I will take my truck over to the yard and then head for home. My DM stayed true to his word and is getting me home on the 6th. I made an appointment to do my CDL retest on the 13th and will likely come out of the house from there. Last week was horrible as far as runs go, but this week is starting to shape up.
Well, that's it for now. Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend.

Lately I have been feeling like I'm in an episode straight out of the Twilight Zone. Every pickup has been delayed for one reason or another, and if the pickup wasn't delayed then it was the drop. I wouldn't bother me so much except it keeps cutting into the time I need to make it home on time. Last night I was at my drop an hour and a half early. I got there at 22:30 and they still didn't get me in till 1:30am and cut me lose at 3:30am. I had a pick up 100 miles away between 6:00am and Noon. Needless to say I did not make my pick up on time as I was out of hours for the day on the last drop. I parked at a Wal-Mart and got some rest. My DM said no problem, it's a drop and hook. When I got to my pickup they said to come back at 18:00. It's a good thing I told my DM that I needed to be home on the 6th, I actually don't need to be there till the 7th.
Hey Lenutt, maybe we can run into each other when you are in Cali. What day will you be there? So now I am sitting at a Pilot Truck Stop. I am starting to find that very few Pilots have a TV room so I have been trying to avoid them as I want to catch up on all the madness down south, but this is all there was within a reasonable distance of my pickup.
That's it for now.
