YEAH! Our Friends are home

I'm very happy to know that Warren and Lenutt finally got home. Following their trials and tribulations of getting home has been like a watching a soap opera. It shouldn't be this hard to get home. Especially in this time of strong freight and low supply of drivers. Companies need to be taking care of their drivers to keep them.

This week I spent the day with a carrier that is changing most of its operations to get drivers home several times a week. In fact, this company has been undertaking several initiatives for the drivers and is planning many more good things.

I see a strong wind blowing in this industry that is bringing many changes. Companies that adapt to meet the needs of drivers will survive. Those that persist in the archaic mindset that truck drivers are not worthy of consideration will fall by the wayside.

And drivers, you can speed this process along by letting your companies know what you will and will not tolerate. You're the Soul of America and deserve respect. You have earned it.

I have a bone to pick with the ATA's marketing slogan: "Good stuff, Trucks bring it". Sorry, but there can be a 1,000 shiny, new trucks to haul stuff, but if there aren't drivers to drive those trucks, stuff doesn't get hauled.

The slogan should be: "Like your good stuff? Truckers bring it"

yeah, yeah, yeah. My house was still in the same place, my wife was still here, and the dogs and the cat didn't know who I was.

I'm sure your cat and dogs will take you into their hearts again. Tell your wife I said hello and that I hope to meet her at the ball. Have a great homecoming; you both deserve it.

Sheryl, I thought I had better tell you how much we appreciate and love you. You are a very kind, caring, and tollerant person. I say tollerant because you will sit on the phone while trying to handle other stuff and help us thru or troubles. I say kind because no matter what you are doing you never make us feel like it's a bother to you. I say caring because you honestly care what happens to us and work hard to make changes happen in our industry. I've tried to type this out and I just can't find the words, so i'll just say thank you. Warren

I agree totally with Warren. It is hard to find the words to adequately express yourself sometimes. But just know that I feel the same way he does.

This is the first time in awhile that I've looked at my blog. Thank you, Warren and Lenutt. You both bring a lot into my life. Look at all the laughs we have. I have to say that all the truck drivers I know have totally enriched my life. I haven't found a greater group of people on this Earth. I thank God everyday that I get to hang out with you all.

Will Brown, Have you written any other trucking songs? You have a real good sound.

Sorry it took me time to get back to this blog but yes I am finishing a project called "Country Boys and Country Songs" and I have a more positive less controversial trucker piece on it. I'll let you know when it is done. Thanks for the compliment.
