Just trucking along

As soon as I get home tomorrow I will be on vacation. My wife and I are going to Omaha,Ne for a get together. She is always in a cancer support chat room and they get together someplace and put faces to the names. It usually is a 3 to 4 day party. We plan on leaving home on Weds. and arrive in Omaha sometime Thurs. I think this one is going to be tough for me since I lost my Dad to cancer this year. We have a special meal and dance on Saturday night which includes a time to remember loved ones lost since the last gathering. The lights are turned down and everyone holds a candle while the song "The Dance" by Garth Brooks is played. There is never a dry eye in the place.
This get together is called a Hugfest. It means alot to everybody there to actually get a hug and words of encouragement. Everyone there has had something to do with cancer. Either have or had cancer or knows somebody that is going through it or lost someone to cancer. My wife and I both lost our Dads to cancer.
So far we have gone to Hugfests in Memphis,Tn, St Louis,Mo, Chicago,Il, Green Bay,Wi and this will be the second time in Omaha,Ne. All the ones we have gone to have been held the last week of Sept. Which happens to be our anniversary. Sept 28th will be 21 yrs of wedded bliss. All the more reason to party.
