Just trucking along

When we were kids the question that was always asked is what do you want to be when you grow up. I think I had a different answer everytime. But I don't ever remember saying I want to be a trucker. So now that I've been out here for awhile I know what I want to be when I finally do grow up. And that is I want to be anything but a trucker. Maybe I'll collect welfare and my wife and I will have a bunch of brats running around getting in trouble. We can be professional trailer trash!!
Or I can really make the big bucks and have a gravy job like VM. I figure if he can dispatch, I should be able to handle it!! I've been known to tell people where they can go! I can even give them directions.
But I need to grow up first. I know I'm not a grownup yet because people keep saying "Oh grow up". My answer to that has always been thats no fun!! I'm just a kid that's pushing 50. I figure that's what causes my depression. I'm a little kid in a big body.
I try not to take anything too seriously anymore. I think that's what caused so much of my hair fall out. I don't worry about things that hasn't happened yet.But then alot of things that happen ain't worth worrying about because you can't change it anyway. My wife does enough worrying for both of us. Since she's so good at it I'll let her do it.

I finally made it home this morning. This week was pretty tough on the ribs. The ride wasn't so bad. It was the climbing in and out of the truck and getting into and out of bed that was hard. I guess this is just a reminder that I can't be trying to do the things I did 20+ yrs ago. Oh well,thats what keeps life interesting. Can't just have truck driving as the only stupid thing I do now days!! Things would get boring real fast!

Thank God this is my last day of vacation!! I need to get to work so that I can recover. I managed to lay my bike over and I have a hurt leg and possible cracked ribs!! Then went camping and wasn't able to sleep in the tent because of the ribs. I had to sleep sitting up. So needless to say I didn't sleep too well. But at least I had a Large number of bottled pain reliever along. We went out with the boat and did some fishing and swimming. Well the nice hot sunny weather did wonders to my bald spot, shoulders and back!! God I love vacations!!! So now I'm limping around the house with sore ribs and tender red skin.
Now I know that eveybody that is reading this isn't laughing at me. Your all feeling real bad that this all happened to me within one week!! Yeah right!! I'm glad I don't have VM as a dispatcher. He would find the roughest roads around and multistop loads that are driver unload and not give the ok for lumpers!! Lenutt would be playing a violin while I tell of my whoas. And to think you guys would do that to a nice guy like me that never gives anybody grief.

I'll be thinking of all you poor souls that will have to work(or in VM's case,push a pencil!) this coming week.I'm being forced to sit in my boat with a fishing pole in one hand and a drink in the other. Then when I'm not in the boat I have to sit by a campfire with a drink in both hands!! I know everyone is feeling sorry for me but I think I'll manage to get through it. I'd rather be in the truck rolling down the road. Yeah right!!!! Will let everyone know if I survive.
