That's right folks! CRASH and PATT and the other groups have done it again. Went to court over HOS and managed to get rid of the 34 hr reset and the 11 hrs of driving. Be prepared to spend lots of time sitting waiting to get hours back and with any luck our driving time won't be less than 10 hrs. The only thing the court didn't do anything about is the 14 hr and sleeper berth rules. Regardless of what the FMCSA does, these special intrest groups will go crying to the courts to have it changed!! They better not cry when the store shelves are empty and people are out of work because the material they need to work is shut down on a truck someplace because the driver is on break or out of hours for a few days.
Time to get off my soap box for awhile. I get a bit nervous up that high!!

I will be back out on the road tomorrow. Need a break from all the work my wife had me doing around here. I think somebody filled her in on how to be a slave driver!! We got alot of work done around here the last couple of days and my musles are feeling it. It will be strange going out and not have to worry about much once again. I have been off work for over a week waiting for the Lord to take my Dad home.
But fear not, I'm itching to get out on the road and drive four wheelers crazy!! Need to be told I'm #1 by them. It's those little things that gets my spirit up!! So beware when in the midwest because I'm back and ready to roll!!

Well folks, my Dad finally passed away Monday night. He put up a good fight, but cancer finally won. It is going to be strange not having him around. I'm more relieved that his suffering is over than i'm sad that he is gone. Now I need to make it through the funeral. I think that will really hit me then that my Dad is gone. It will be nice to get back into the truck.I have been off work since Thursday waiting for the Lord to take my Dad home.
I would like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this long ordeal. It really meant alot to me knowing there are total strangers willing to care.

Well, things have taken a turn for the worse for my dad. The chemo did its job on the cancer. They had stopped it's growth and things were looking good. Two days later he found himself on his death bed. By the time my family was able to talk to me and got to the hospital,he was already on morphine and was pretty much out of it. I was taking a class over the weekend and was hard to get in touch with. Went to school thinking my dad would be coming home to getting the call he has a very short time to live. Needless to say it was a very hard decision about working this week. He was holding steady so I took a short run out and working my way back. I'm back in Wisconsin right know but won't be home until tomorrow. My mom called me about a half hour ago and said it should be over in the next 24 hrs. To keep from going crazy I got the laptop out and keeping my mind busy while my dispatcher works on getting me home. I don't want to just drop this load and head for home. It's not my nature to do that. That and I know my dad would kick my a-- if I did that. Make sure everything will be taken care of at work and then head home. It's very hard to be away and know he could be dead at any time now.
