swift driving academy

[Comments] [Send Article] [Improper]

last month i applied to work for Swift Transportation. don't have my CDL so i'd be going to the swift driving academy in memphis, tn for driver training. not really sure what to expect and i was hoping to get a better idea, hopefully from someone who has gone through the academy, about what to expect. any input would be helpful. thanks.

VM will probably give you the lowdown on Swift and there won't be much good said. Swift isn't thought too highly of by a majority of drivers. Best advice will be to get the training and some experience then leave. Any questions during training and after just ask on here and we will be glad to help.

I think Rdhzrd likes to see me aggravated...Geez, for someone like me to harbor resentment after 5 years against a company takes a lot..I HATE SWIFT..Pure and simple..HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE SWIFT...I think they all can burn in hell and I wouldn't even piss on them for relief..After all I am actually a nice guy..Run away from them they will just chew you up and spit you out..My advice..Pay out of pocket and get your CDL privately...VM-out!

i;m a new driver also, and i heard the same stories about SWIFT, another driver told me that swift means SURE WISH I FINISHED TRAINING.. but i went to a private training class and now im working for a companythat would give me a shot driving local.sooo GOOD LUCK.

Do you see this rookies a testimony that you don't need big companies like SWIFT to get your start..There are jobs out there willing to take on rookies don't be lazy use a shotgun approach and apply for everything maybe someone will bite. This usually depends on how desperate a company is for drivers..All a company can say is NO..Vm-out!

Driving local is a good way to get experience doing city driving and plenty of backing practice. There aren't many locals that will hire newbies. If you ever decide to do over the road, you will still get frustrated. But not nearly as bad. The advantage to paying your own way is you are not committed to a company for a year or more.
