[Comments] [Send Article] [Improper]it iratates me to no end , when the trucking industory are desprate for drivers, when i needed help getting into truck driving school all i got was a run around , because I can't get a student loan and I was told i had to pay 2500. up front or no school. Now you tell me what stupidy was that. I am a hard working person and I may add a grown adult who takes on my responsibilitys,i know what i am capability are and my word is as good as my signature, i feel that the truking industry should get there heads out of the bull shit paper work and try to give a little leay way for thoes who want to become drivers, as a matter of fact may be they get alot more drivers if the bend the rules a little and stop going on company policy!!!!

Try John Christner Trucking in Sapulpa,OK. They have a CDL training program. I am a trainer there. 1 week in classroom, 4 weeks with trainer, get CDL, 4 weeks teaming with finisher trainer, 4 weeks teaming with another student. then lease to own your truck. OWE nothing for training if you stay with JCT for 1 year.

Whoa...just Whoa....that isn't the way to solve anything...profanity and the such...that will not get you anywhere...
Many Trucking companies will train you for "free" if you remain in their employ for a period of time. Check the internet for companies offering training and do some more research before you step up to the plate with a loaded bat like you did in your post. This industry needs people who can think first..then act...not belt out profanities and accusations...people who can think out a course of action then follow the best course.
I agree with the other poster...shortcuts are not acceptable in this industry and you'll see that is true when you get a few years behind the wheel. Good luck in your pursuit of a trucking job. I hope you find what you're looking for soon.

I agree with Bill on the way to go after something you want but another observation (unless it was because you were angry) was a notice of your lack of verbal and spelling skills. Perhaps if you would further your education generally you could get further ahead with any job.

It's people like that. That are killing the trucking industrys. Its people getting into trucks who have no bussiness in them.I've been a lifer at trucking. trucking needs to be left to truckers who have had it in there blood from day one.sooner or later there won't be a big demand for drivers becuz the industry is getting swamped with people just needing a job an down goe's the wages which ain't good enuff as it is for the hour's you gotta put in. well thanks for listen an be safe...........ck

I can't beleave that guys coment about just a driving job.I just finshed truck school at C D I in South bend In. If you think for one moment that it's all just about getting behind the wheel and driving your dead wrong there is much more to it then that if you don't believe me i challenge you and anybody that thinks like you to go. Alot of the trucking companys will pay your tuittion reimbursement. And if you want the best training program around go to C.D.I. Truck Driving School in South Bend In. And then come back here and make your comment again!

some technical schools offer cdl training at no cost to the student. They have state approved grants available to people in need with limited income or lack of a job. Washington Holmes Technical School in Chipley,Florida is one example.

Where do you live at? There are student training centers all over. Before you cuss and act in such a garbage manner you should ask a few questions. Nobody will help you if you have an attitude. Just my opinion, but lighten up you will get in somewhere that you do not have to come up with that much money. Besides, some companies will reimburse you your money. Do some research comrade. Good Luck!!

I understand the problems trucking companies have finding the quality people they need to train as drivers. I once was a driver thirteen years ago. I decided to change vocation, but am now wanting to get back into the field. The only problem is, that nine years ago, I made a tremendous mistake and committed a felony offence paid the price and am now fully rehabilitated. Now trucking companies treat me like the plague, not willing to give an x-felon a chance. Is there any, even just one, that well give me an opportunity to prove that I am a capable an rsponsable human being?

Truck driving is a serious occupation. Truck drivers are not stupid, lazy or in any way lesser humans. People underestimate the significance of over-the-road truck drivers. Most trucking companies offer their own schooling/training. There is however some standards. A high school education or equivelent is preferred but not necessary. This country is desperate for quality drivers. Its not all fun and games. Companies will pay for your training-if you drive for them for a certain period of time. That is not too much to ask. You can't get something for nothing, and only serious applicants need apply. My suggestion to this person is to hone up to some people skills and go back to work at Mcdonalds. He obviously doesn't have the type of commitment to maintain any other job. As far as being unable to obtain a job due to a conviction. You have to understand how much things have changed due to 9/11. Smaller companies are willing to overlook convictions.

WELL I HAVE 9 MONTHS OVER THE ROAD EXPERIANCE, RUNNING 48 STATES PULLING A DRY BOX, AND U HAVE BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND I WANT TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND ALL I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS NO WE CANT HELP U, I KNOW I NEED A REFRESHER COURSE AND I CANT FIND ANYONE THAT WILL TAKE ME,I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I DONT LIVE WITH IN THERE LANES, OR I HAVE TO PAY $1900. DOLLORS THAT IS CRAZY, THEY SHOULD GIVE SOME ONE THAT HAS PRIOIR EXSPERIANCE A CHANCE B/C WE ALLREADY KNOW ABOUT THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY, AND KNOW THE RULES AND REGULATIONS,BUT I GUESS THEY WILL JUST HAVE TO CONTINUE WITH A DRIVER SHORTAGE, UNLESS THEY GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT THEY CAN DO AND GIVE THEM A PAYMENT OPTION TO PAY IT OFF WHILE U DRIVE LIKE MOST TRUCKING COMPANYS DO.

Trucking jobs have gone down the drain and companies will never be the same. Thanks to the greed of corporate america and the lack of people fighting for whats right. Cry kick and yell all you want. At the end you are all nothing but a bunch of replaceable peasants in a field of covetousness. Oh I dont have a CDL oh I have a felony, what ever your excuse remember, your nothing. Not even a thought. Die and the corporate world wont stop spinning for you. Say your sick and the'll say rot. Nothing but ants trying to give your lives paramount when in actuality it has no value. If you think TRUCKING is an actual career you better think again. No life, if you were once in shape trust me it wont last you'll end up a fat ass in no time. Your married, lol. Yeah, most drivers get cheated on. Scared of STD's, you better be hookers carry them. Hows about a high school kid at Red Lobster will probably make more than you. Yeah the truth hurts. Thats what I learned in 12 yrs F trucking go to school!

What a crybaby, If you can't swing a loan to train for your CDL , you won't have a chance at making a living driving. As a CDL driver , you must be a competent businessman , as well as a Highly skilled Pilot of Very high priced equipment. It is not a easy way of life or one that will make you rich. But many Pro Drivers live in areas where they must "Take to the Road" to support a family. Not only is training Tax-deductable, it is an Investment in a Skill that will last a lifetime. I have driven the "Ice Roads" of Northwest Canada and the "Freight Trains" of the Aussie outback. This has afforded me a lifestyle of freedom and pride of accomplicment that few can afford or endure. Plus with the Invention of Sirius Radio , it is a pleasure to drive the states without having to endure the Christian and Country music Stations that inhabit the mid-sections of America. Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge keep a smile on my face coast to coast.

What i have to say is what and were is this country headed. If you cant respeact one who is dedicated to what he does and does not waiver. So if a person wants to be a boring truck driver let him as long as he dont cross youre monkey ass. This goes to corporate america inparticular.

WOW, a few nutjobs id really hate to see behind the wheel of a 40 ton box rolling at 65mph. lol, Ive been off the road for more than 12 years now. My daughter is now almost 18 and im dying to get back to what i love. I drove for 6 years OTR, and i loved most of it(damn scale athoritys)
Anyhow, I know im gonna needa major refresher to get my CDL back and have been looking for some (good?)companys that would sponser or train to hire. C.R England seems to be pushing lease and im not really up for that right now and also seems to charge a little to much for benifits -a big company like that aught to be able to do much better-I live off the I-25 south of Denver, so if you happen to know, please let me know.

I've found that the internet is filled with more paid training programs, for cdl ojt programs, job placement, etc. etc, than I have time to sit & research. IN SHORT THE WORLD IS YOURS KID PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET!! EVERYTHING IN LIFE TAKES WORK
