Alright, already. I will say something on the blog just to keep people from asking when I am going to blog. Darn, talk about nagging and I thought my wife was bad about it.
I have no idea what I am going to say. I am tired of politics and the dirty shenanigans going on from BOTH groups of political hacks. Heck when you have someone new coming in they attack them like a pack of rabid pit bulls. If they can't find actual facts about them then they manufacture some rather tall tales. You know what they usually do with allegedly rabid animals, don't you? They shoot them and take their heads in to the labs to check for rabies. Probably wouldn't work here because you have to have a brain to be affected and they seem to be short of that commodity. I am sure the other 3 have some serious faults of their own but low and behold the attack dogs of the media, for some reason, miracuously cannot find a single thing bad to say about them. I guess their eye sight is bad and their attention span is so short that you can't even measure it. CHANGE!! I am seeing it already, changing right back to the worst type of politics. Our politicians seem to have lost their sense of direction and what is generally called common sense (a politician get confused when you use the term common sense because they have no idea what it means).
Isn't truck driving fun? Especially since the government agencies are sticking their nose further and further into our personal business and justifying it as a crusade for safety. Does anyone know what happened to the crusaders of the olden days? Well, needless to say it wasn't very pretty. They got their posteriors kicked and kicked badly. You certainly don't have to look very far to see what has happened to the idealists. They have all gravitated to the government because no one else wanted them around. In an ideal world all would be perfect but in the world we live with all the humans populating it this world is far from perfect. Heck, I thought that everyone that drives on the nation's highways are responsible for safety but I guess that it boils down to the truck drivers are the ONLY unsafe drivers on the road. We have to give up our personal freedom so they can ascertain our physical abilities and medical problems. They want to put them out there where the whole world can see them and especially the trial lawyers. You won't be able to access car and R.V. drivers medical records but truckers records will be open to the world.
Since the car and R.V.drivers are the world's most perfect drivers and they are in excellent physical condition no matter if they are 100 or 16 years of age. I suggest that they allow us to drive the cars and everyone else drive the trucks that way we will have the safest roads in the world.
Other than that I have no complaints. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful world. At least I am 6 ft above ground so that I can gripe rather than 6 ft below and looking up wishing I could gripe.
My wife and I are strugging to keep on an even keel with the economy like it is and sometimes it isn't easy but have to keep trying. Sometimes having my own authority is good and other times it is a nightmare but nonetheless it is the meal I have been served and I will continue to eat it. Sometimes I wish MY guardian angel would appear and say "Voila, all your problems are solved". Fat chance of that. Needless to say we have plenty of company in this miserable state of affairs and I wish the rest of you unlucky folks the best of luck.
Vaya con Dios, mis amigos. Hasta luego.
O.K.

Hey - I drive a VW so I'm sure I can park it! (Besides, it's fun to snuggle up to folks who take up 2 spaces.) If you want to see a mess, put me in your seat - I'd probably run over everything!
I'll not say your better half taught me to nag because I don't want to be in trouble with her. Besides, I think I knew how to do it when I met her. Glad to have something else to read....
Drive safe now.

You are not alone in wondering when the slide down hill for our personal economics will hit bottom. I already know how I have to vote and have given up on the tv for anything involving the Truth. HOWEVER, I have a real question about driving. I'm a million mile 4-wheel driver, but what I need to know is how to deal with a trucker who is apparently falling asleep. (I'm one of those who signals when you got a rear tire smoking, trailer door open etc.) You know the situation, the slow slip over to the shoulder, snap back behavior. I've seen it enough, I wait and the after a snap back I go wide right and get the *H* out of the way. Is there something better I could do rather than run and say a prayer for the other driver(s) as I watch their headlights get smaller (as they consistently veer off the road). I would be glad to hear some idea of a pro-active thing to assist. THanks, K.

Kurt, that's a common problem for both of us. At least I have a loud air horn to get his attention. Actually just like you when I get around a sleepy driver I try to get past them as fast as possible. One thing you don't want to do is startle them too much as they will jerk the vehicle toward the center of the highway, always the center, never the outside of the highway. Some drivers will take exception to what I say, but if it is bad enough try to get in touch with the police to have them pull him over. He may get a ticket or get shut down but no one will be dead. A ticket is cheap, a life isn't. I have over 4 million miles behind the steering wheel but I have yet to find an easy answer to this one. That action is not just dangerous it is stupid and yes I am talking about other truck drivers this way (if you can call some of these people truck drivers and that is saying it loosely). Thank you for caring enough to ask and I am sorry that I don't have a good answer you you.

Kurt, I will try to answer any question for you that I can about truck drivers and their behavior. But realize this I am old school (I starting driving trucks for a living in the late sixties). I drove (a stretch of the imagination) my first truck at the tender age of 12. I cannot understand or begin to understand the new breed of truck driver. If you have any concerns or questions please contact me @ lenutt@hotmail.com.
