[Comments] [Send Article] [Improper]Is there any body out there who want's to see some change in this industry to the good? I for one am sick and tired of being taken advantage of. Who's out there fighting for us anyway? The ATA? tHINK AGAIN. dOT, NOPE. There are over nine million drivers out there, you would think we could get something done. WE can, if we care enough about each other. If your in for a change, let me know. I have already been in contact with a Senator who will help, but only if there is enough response.

If truck drivers do nothing but complain, and do not participate in helping change the industry, then all this talk is in vein.
Look, I have been sating rhis for years.. Drivers have been mentally programmed to take what the goverment puts out. In this politically inbread society we live says, "Trucks should be Regulated until their heads explode", then somewhere in the future we will find thousands of dead truckers with exploded heads. I know that is a bit colorful, but if we all learn how to say "No" instead of just letting people run over us, then we could have a revolution in the trucking industry.

Not one free man left in the industry . thats ok cause their given out cdl's south of the border like hotcakes . I still cant believe a bartender makes more than most truckers, and save more too.
I doubt it will ever turn around. Of course all 9 million could go to washington and burn their cdls that might get some attention.

Start correcting the problem within your own company and see what happens. Every time they sit you, even for 2 hours, bitch like hell, and ALWAYS ask for money even if it is for an hour. I have heard enough of this "well we need to give the broker or the customer at least 4 hours" crap. I don't have to give them anything. I am working and should be getting paid just like the dipstick on the other end of the phone line is. He's sitting on his butt in front of a computer telling you that you can't have any money for working! Does this work? Yep. I'm getting alot more money then when I first started, and I'm sitting alot less because I bitch every single time that they make me sit or don't have a back haul set up when I get unloaded. Believe me it works, and it will change the entire industry as it will filter up hill. EVERYONE, including the old timers who have the "that's truckin" attitude, need to make an effort to do this as it does work. Don't start at the top, start at the bottom.
