As I passed through Atlanta today I heard a news story that set me off!

A teacher who, by mandate of the school board, is suposed to teach "responsibility" as well as subject matter got fired today for refusing to adjust a grade for a studant who also just happens to be a football player.

This teacher of some 26 years gives out a silibus at the start of every semester stating his grading policy which states that any disruptive behavior or lack of attentitivness will result in a zero grade for that day. He has had to give out six of these zeros so far this school year according to a statement by him. One of these zeros was given to a studant, who happens to be on the football team, for falling asleep in class.

This studants "daddy" heard about it and went to the principle of this school and pitched a fit. The principle went to the teacher and ordered him to adjust the grade. The teacher refused. One of the stated reasons for the refusal is a state law which stated that adjusting a grade after it has been entered into perminent recores can result in his loosing his teacher acreditation.

This "daddy" is teaching his son and other studants that if you screem enough the world will fall over and kiss your behind.

BUT, in the real world this doesn't work. Try falling asleep at your job. If the boss repremands you then try telling your "daddy" and see how far this will get you.

It is time for personal responsibility to become popular again!!

Just another day?

As I sit here setting up this blog account I recieved a call from my wife of 7 years. The topic of "getting by" came up and I am having trouble with the concept.

It seems to me that just getting by is a cop out. Coasting along the road with no power to push us along. What ever happend to the desire to make oneself better? And why when someone dares to do just that does it scare everyone else around us? I see this in some of my kids, in the school system, the work force, politics, everyware. Have we become so self satisified that medeocrity is the norm, and when someone dares to break out of said medeocrity others feel threatend?

I say its time to move ahead! Its time for myself anyway tp lead my family to new hights. God said of all of us who follow His word, " I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me". Its time for a moral revival in our homes. Its time for the men of this great nation to stand up for propriety in our homes, work places, schools, and governments.

Im done ranting for now.......Who knows what tomorrow may bring?
