I know that this is well over due and shame on me, as some of you know i went through the cr england school in SLC and i passed everything with flying colors. The cdl program there is great and the instructors will bend over to help you with any needed help you might need. They do process alot of people everyday so the halls are a very busy place and can be a pain if you know what i mean. As far as the otr training i'm sad to report that i will not be completing that part with them as i had a issue with some people in the training dept. lie to me about taking some personal time off to deal with things at home which would of only took 3 days max which i was told was okay but towards the end they said that they frown on that and is a no no per say. Well i'm not one for putting up with lies and such so i will be moving on as i do not fit in good with CRE. I start with swift on monday and will only have to do the 11 western states and home every 17 days max. compared with englands 3-4 weeks policy. I will try and keep you all updated as i go through swifts 6 week program otr training, i know a certain friend that wanted me to go with central ref. but they offered lower pay than swift and i couldnt get myself to do that. So good buddy stay in touch and i will do the same with you, and hope join you at landstar in a year if i cant get a local gig in a year or so.
Thank you
Byron

since you won't be staying at CRE, what will your schooling there cost you? I hear they go after people to pay the full amount when they don't stay / as for their lies, maybe they lied about other things too? would help others to know about that / thanks

The reality is that when you start out in trucking these larger companies will try and take advantage of you, its a sad fact. But, you have to start somewhere to gain your experience and most decent companies won't touch you with a ten foot pole unless you got 2 years under your belt. So stick with Swift for 6 months to a year and pay your dues. Even though I wouldn't piss on Swift if they were on fire you have to start somewhere. I did the same thing when I started out and went with Swift. VM-out!

Hey Buddy:
You know all I want is for you to be happy and to get the experience. You are going to have to put up with some crap no matter where you go, so like VM says, tough it out and stick with it. You will be rewarded in the long run.
Talk to you later.

Diddo what Warren said, I do wish you well and want you to be happy. Maybe I should shut up because your experience may be nothing like mine. Maybe you'll have a good time with Swift and like it, who knows? I have come to regret statements in the past that may have made people more anxious and nervous. In retrospect, how did I really help them by making them nervous to an already nerve racking transition. In the future I'll keep my mouth shut and just cheer people on. VM-out!

Which ever company you do go with, stick it out there for at least the first year. That first year is generally the hardest to get through. Once you are in a truck by yourself it can get real frustrating out here. Figuring out your routes, putting up with traffic and weather, trying to find the customer, sitting around waiting to get loaded or unloaded(and having to load or unload yourself after being up for a long time), Dispatch pushing you to do things you feel you shouldn't be doing. It can all add up and have you wanting to find another company to drive for. After that first year you will find yourself doing everything with ease. Then if your not happy with the company, you have a better idea of what you do want in a company and the experience to possibly get the job

It was surreal, like Close Encounters of the Third Kind::::Floating lights zipping towards me faster than anything I've ever seen
Oakland is the final 20th century professional sports-based bastion of institutionalized racism in California.
Oakland is the last city in California which has a major sports complex on the edge of the ghetto. Staples Center replaced the LAForum in Inglewood and PacBellPark replaced Candlestick in BayView/Hunter'sPoint.
Restricting tickets in Oakland has hurt blacks by rejuvinating this market for scalpers.
I'd like to note the absence of black players on the A's and how it starkly contrasts to the SFGiants.
