Help!

Well today I called Schneider for my call in appoitment. And they turned me down because I didn't know of one speeding ticket from 5yrs ago. They are saying because it changed my application that they can't offer me a job at this time. So my question to anyone out there. What other companies pay for training that I could get with. This is something I really want to do. I have no knowledge in the trucking industry. So if someone could help me out I would very much appreciate it.

Go to the nearest truckstop and get some of the trucking publications and check them. They will have most of the companies advertising in them. Then you can start calling around to see what places have to offer. Be sure to let them know your driving record and any other things in your past. Companies are doing alot more background checks now. If something comes up that you didn't list(like Schnieder did for your driving record) you won't be considered for employment or waste thier time training you.

Check with your local community college or unemployment office they might have truck driving training classes that are either minimal or scot free. I would check into that before signing some contract with a larger carrier. Maybe you can search around and find a truck school that accepts payments. I paid for my own schooling but I cashed out my 401k doing so. I think hardly only one speeding ticket should disqualify you from getting a CDL. Anyway best of luck ..VM-out!!
