Who we are

It's Monday again, time for us to go back on the road. Sometimes the weekends are so short that it seems a person can never get anything done. The good thing is that we made our first pick-up on Friday so we don't have to leave until after lunch to get our second pick-up on, then its off to the East Coast.
My boyfriend and I both love this job. Although I don't drive, I used to until he decided to put in a 5 and a 4 transmission and took out my 18 speed. He is a fourth generation truck driver and I'm a third generation. This job is all he knows, it makes me sad to see him get so frustrated with the fuel prices, basically the price of everything has gone up. His truck is a part of him and so is trucking. He talks about hanging it up, but I believe it would ruin who he has become. I don't know what to do for him to help him feel better about things in the industry.

Getting Started

Hello,
I found this blog in a trucker's magazine and thought I would check it out. My boyfriend owns his own trucking company, we are a one truck company. We go from WI to the East coast and back again. We have a pretty steady run. I am his operations manager, had to have a title for the FMSCA, meaning I do the paperwork. I used to work at a truck stop off I-80 in PA hence where I met the man of my dreams. My father drove truck for 30 years and is now a dreaded dispatcher (YUCK).
I have met many different walks of life when I worked at the truck stop and I loved hearing the many different stories. I enjoyed that job, the drivers that came in regularly I miss.
To all drivers---STAY SAFE
To all wives and girlfriends also the male versions--HAVE FAITH IN YOUR DRIVERS.
